PSL sends condolences to Lolo family

JOBURG - The Premier Soccer League has sent its condolences to the Lolo family following the tragic death of footballing son, Cecil Lolo last weekend.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) recently sent its condolences to the Lolo family following the tragic death of footballing son, Cecil Lolo, last weekend.

League CEO, Brand de Villiers said their heartfelt condolences also extend to friends and teammates of Ajax Cape Town and the club itself.

The league observed a moment of silence over the weekend during the Telkom Knockout quarterfinals and the National First Division and MultiChoice Diski Challenge fixtures in respect of the late Lolo, who died in a car crash on 24 October.

“It was with profound sadness that we learnt about Cecil Lolo’s death. He was such an amazing young talent and was a key member of the youthful Ajax Cape Town side that has earned many rave reviews,” said De Villiers.

“It’s all thanks to their [team] sterling performances towards the end of last season and earlier this season. On behalf of the league family, we would like to convey our condolences to Cecil’s family in Cape Town, his friends and the Ajax Cape Town family.”

As a result of Lolo’s death, the league has seen it fit to postpone Ajax Cape Town’s two upcoming Absa Premiership fixtures on 28 and 31 October.

They were scheduled to play Platinum Stars and Golden Arrows on the respective dates and the league said it will communicate new dates for the matches in due course.
