Lebogang Phalula has won the 10km Spar Women’s Race

ILLOVO - The winner of the 10km Spar Women's Race was Lebogang Phalula, who ran straight to her babies and was visibly emotional on her win.

Lebogang Phalula is the first women to cross the 10km finish line in the Spar Women's Challenge.

She crossed the finish line at around 8.38am on 11 October. After she finished the race she said, “I want my baby.” During the launch of the women’s race she said if she won the race she would buy a house.

The South African athlete, who is 31-years-old, was ranked 76th in the world for women’s road racing in June this year.

Lebogang Phalula is emotional as she greets her children after her momentous win.

The first runner to cross the finish line in the 5km Spar Women’s Race, dressed in a pink t-shirt and tutu with no shoes, crossed the finish line at about 8.22am on 11 October. Her name is not known at this time.
