Alex to host McDonald’s U14 tournament

Alexandra Stadium will play host for the second time to McDonald’s U14 National Play-Offs from 28 to 30 September.

According to the secretary general of the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association, Mafika Morajane, the tournament will host schools from all nine provinces.

Morajane said the unfortunate element in the hosting of the tournament was that there would be no school from Alexandra participating. “With or without an Alex school in the tournament, we are determined to be the best hosts ever, and we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all visitors who come to Alexandra for the tournament have a wonderful experience,” he said.

He thanked the South African Schools Football Association for choosing them as hosts of the tournament.

“Being asked to play host to the tournament for a second time in such a short period is a feather in our cap and speaks volumes about our hosting ability, and as Alex football and the community of Alexandra we pat ourselves on the back for a job well done,” Morajane said.
