Alex football congratulates Mighty Heroes

ALEXANDRA - The Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association has congratulated Malandela Might Heroes's U15 and U17 teams for qualifying to represent Alexandra in the 6th edition of the Mandela Day Cup.

The Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association has congratulated the Malandela Mighty Heroes U15 and U17 teams for qualifying to represent Alex in the sixth edition of the Mandela Day Cup.

This year’s cup, which is being organised by the Inner City Ambassadors, will gather teams of both boys and girls in the U15 and U17 age categories from various regional local football associations in Alexandra, Johannesburg inner city, Soweto, Vosloorus and Cosmo City.

The two Mighty Heroes teams qualified after a gruelling local tournament, and will now represent Alexandra in the main provincial tournament to be held at the University of Johannesburg’s APB Sports Complex on 18 July.

“I would like to take this opportunity and congratulate Malandela Mighty Heroes U15 and U17 for winning the inaugural Local Mandela Day Cup as two of their teams qualified for regional Mandela Day Cup finals,” said secretary-general of the association, Mafika Morajane.

“We wish them all the best as they will be hoisting the Alexandra flag high in the tournament, and look forward to them bringing the cup home.”

Morajane called on the Alex community to come in their numbers to the tournament on 18 July.
