If you are a football fan and you were still hoping to buy tickets for the Carling Black label Cup featuring Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, you can forget about it.

The tickets which were selling like hot cakes have been snapped up for the off-season derby between the Buccaneers and Amakhosi Amahle at the FNB Stadium on 1 August.

The overwhelming support by South African football fans in the past four successive years of the campaign has proved once again that this is the most popular event in the South African football calendar, said South African Breweries Carling Black Label general manager, Vijay Govindsamy.

Pirates are the defending champions with three wins over their old foes, Chiefs, who last lifted the cup in 2013.

“We are pleased with the consistent support we have been receiving over the past five years,” said Govindsamy.

Meanwhile, fans are urged to continue to vote for their starting line-ups by dialing *120*660*underlinercode# on their cellphones (at a cost of 20 cents per 20 seconds) or visiting www.carlingblacklabel.co.za
