League welcomes back Jomo Cosmos

JOBURG - The Premier Soccer League has welcomed the return of Jomo Cosmos to the elite league for 2015/16 season.

The Premier Soccer League has welcomed the return of Jomo Cosmos to the elite league for 2015/16 season.

League CEO, Brand de Villiers noted that Cosmos were promoted to the premier division (Absa Premiership) for the 2015/16 season which will kick off in August this year. This follows their 1-0 victory against Moroka Swallows at the Dobsonville Stadium.

The result meant that Cosmos finished on seven points level with Black Leopards in the mini league log of the play-offs. However, Jomo Cosmos enjoyed a superior goal difference and hence were promoted.

Moroka Swallows were relegated to the National First Division (NFD).

“On behalf of the league we would like to congratulate Jomo Cosmos management, coaching staff, the players and the fans for bouncing back to the Premier Division,” said De Villiers.

“This followed a very exciting and competitive season in the NFD and the equally thrilling campaign in the promotional play-offs. In the next couple of weeks, we will do our best to offer support to them as we prepare them for the 2015/16 Absa Premiership season. We wish them all the best.”
