Misdemeanours cost chiefs heavily

Kaizer Chiefs goal minder, Itumeleng Khune, coach Stuart Baxter and club official Bobby Motaung have been sanctioned by the Premier Soccer League for various misdemeanours.

Khune was found guilty of bringing the league into disrepute following statements he made on social network Twitter.

He was fined R50 000 of which R25 000 was suspended for 12 months on condition that he was not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension. Khune was also ordered to pay the costs of the sitting of the Disciplinary Committee.

Club official, Bobby Motaung, son of club owner Kaizer Motaung, was found guilty of insulting a match official. He was sentenced to a fine of R20 000 suspended for 12 months on condition that he was not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension.

Motaung was also ordered to pay the costs of the sitting of the committee.

The club and its coach Stuart Baxter were found guilty of disregarding a league directive concerning the participation of suspended club officials in official football activities.

Baxter was fined R20 000 which is suspended for 12 months on condition that he was not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension. The club was fined R50 000 and was ordered to pay the costs of the sitting of the committee.
