JOBURG - SuperSport United, which has become renowned for having the leading youth development academy in South Africa, has launched a schools soccer project.

SuperSport United, which has become renowned for having the leading youth development academy in South Africa, has launched a schools soccer project.

Known as the SuperSport United Soccer Schools, the project follows successful partnerships with Feyenoord Rotterdam and Tottenham Hotspur.

With the demand for spaces in the SuperSport United Academy at a premium, the club recognises the need for quality coaching and hence the launch of the coaching project across South Africa.

Children will be provided with a dynamic, proven and cutting edge soccer coaching programme in a safe and fun environment. United recognises the need for a sustainable and continually improved grassroots development programme to maximise the natural skills and strengths of South African youngsters in all communities.

The team behind SuperSport United Soccer Schools has a wealth of knowledge and experience gained both internationally and locally, and are building on this to ensure the next generation of young South African footballers are brimming with skill, confidence and a love and passion for the beautiful game.

The success of such grassroot academies was highlighted in the national U20 and U17 teams, Amajita and Amajimbos respectively, with 12 players from the United academy being represented.
