The four big guns of the Premier Soccer League avoided each other in the Telkom Knockout draw.

Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United, were not paired against each other when the draw was conducted as they were among the top eight finishers in the league and therefore were the seeded teams in the competition.

Sundowns will be at home to face the University of Pretoria, Chiefs will play Maritzburg United, while Orlando Pirates take on Polokwane City and Supersport are at home to Free State Stars.

The rest of the draw sees AmaZulu facing Bloemfontein Celtic, defending champions Platinum Stars will play new the boys on the block Chippa United, Ajax will face Mpumalanga Black Aces and Bidvest Wits will take on Moroka Swallows at home. Match dates, venues and kick-off times will be confirmed at a later date.

The final of the knockout trophy will be played at a venue still to be announced on 29 November, where the winner will collect a cheque of R14.2 million, which makes the competition Africa’s richest.

Telkom’s brand marketing executive Themba Khumalo urged fans to come in their numbers to support their favourite teams, and Premier Soccer League CEO Brand de Villiers hoped to see more goals in this tournament.
