It’s all systems go as Gauteng rolls out the red carpet for the 2014 edition of the Gauteng Sport Awards at Montecasino’s The Teatro at 8pm on 11 July.
Organised in partnership with Vodacom, SNT Sports, ABI, Lichaba and SAB Miller, this years’ edition of the awards is set to sustain the stylish and elegant look and feel commanded by the awards in past years, said the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation’s Nomazwe Ntlokwana.
The department’s MEC Molebatsi Bopape said, “We’re rolling out the red carpet for our sport stars and ready to welcome them to this prestigious event in honour of their sporting excellence and putting our province on the map.”
The SMS line for voting is 33525 and voting will be stopped an hour before the awards ceremony that will be aired live on Supersport. Every SMS received will automatically enter voters into a random draw to win a car on the night of the awards. The results will be announced during the awards.
The awards are organised in unison with the government’s 20 Years of Freedom and Democracy celebrations. Under this theme, the audience can brace itself for a bumper show filled with the golden sporting moments over the past 20 years of democracy.
