A date and venue for the highly-anticipated Gauteng Sport Awards has been announced.
Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Molebatsi Bopape said the awards, which seek to reward sporting excellence in Gauteng and thereby encouraging sporting people to aim even higher, will now be held on 11 July at The Teatro in Montecasino.
Bopape also announced the extension on the SMS campaign line and encouraged fans to continue voting for their favourite Sport Fan, Sport Personality and Sport Programme of the Year. Every SMS received will automatically enter voters into a random draw to win a car on the night of the awards. The results will be announced during the awards ceremony. This year’s edition is expected to be bigger and better with more glitz and glamour, and keeping with government’s 20 years of freedom celebrations.
