ALEXANDRA - The Balfour Park based Alex United's winning football team is under a new coaching staff following the departure former coach John Shoes Moshoeu.

The Balfour Park-based Alex United’s winning football team has a new coaching staff following the departure of former coach John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu.

Club director Nick Nicolaou said they promoted Madida Armstrong Letele, who used to be Shoes’ assistant coach. Also promoted was the club’s long-serving goalkeeper, Fanafuthi Gladwell Vilakazi also known as ‘Banjo’, who has since become the assistant coach.

Nicolaou said the club had also decided to appoint a technical director of coaching to oversee the coaching department. Tracy-Lee Pepper comes in as a highly-qualified and -recommended coaching mentor who is described as one of the highest qualified coaches in South Africa.

Tracy has her South African Football Association (Safa) professional licence, having completed her Safa level 1, level 2 and level 3 courses. She also has her Confederation of African Football B and A licences.

In addition to this, Pepper has been overseas to Germany and has acquired her German B and A licence, in which she was the best student with the highest marks and was even commended by the German football federation (Deutscher FußballbundNicolaouTracy has brought a new professional dimension to the club with some exceptionally impressive training sessions<,” said .

“The players have risen to the occasion and the results are evident on the field. The team is now more disciplined and structured than before and we owe all this to her and her new training techniques.”
