Totalsports Women’s Race celebrates women

JOBURG - Totalsports Women's Race on Women's Day, 9 August, is set to honour the women of this country.

The Totalsports Women’s Race will debut in Johannesburg on Women’s Day, 9 August, as part of the celebrations to honour the women of this country.

Among the runners to participate in the race that will start at Mary Fitzgerald Square, Newtown, will be well-known road running twins from Soweto, Lebo and Lebogang Phalula.

“With a focus on stress relief through exercise, entrants can look forward to a refreshing experience out en route,” said Michael Meyer, managing director of Stillwater Sports, the organisers of the race.

“We look forward to hosting a Women’s Day celebration like no other.”

The race will have two fun events to choose from, a 5km and 10km run/fun walk, and is ideal for family and friends. The race’s charity support will go to PinkDrive, a non-profit organisation that is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education and providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa.

PinkDrive will be at the event and will be offering free clinical breast examinations and educating on the importance of self-breast examinations.
