“This is not cast in stone yet, but I have left my options open as it is good that one ventures into high school knowing the direction he or she wants to go after the four years and you can start putting out feelers in advance,” said the modest Puno.
She added that the early choice of a career direction allows her to choose her career subjects carefully in high school as she already has an idea of what she would like to do.

Asked for a recipe for her success, Puno, who had already shared some tears of joy as family and friends mobbed her in appreciation of her achievements, said there was no recipe per se, but being a workaholic and bookworm including tenacity, support and encouragement from family paid dividends.

“I hope those in grades behind her take a leaf out of the success book of Puno and start carving their own path now for their own final years to come,” remarked the teacher who did not wish to be identified.
