Alexandra’s Joseph Gerard Home holds AGM

All stakeholders interested in the work of the Joseph Gerard Foundation are urged to attend its AGM on September 9 at its premises on 2nd avenue in Alexandra.

The Joseph Gerard Foundation, a non-governmental organisation founded by the late priest, Father Cairns, operates within the premises of St Huberts Catholic Church in Alexandra. The organisation will be holding its annual general meeting (AGM) on September 9, 2023, at 13:00.

The foundation runs the Joseph Gerard Home for the elderly which was formed in the late 1980s to render 24/7 services to senior citizens and early development programmes for children in need of care through a creche and preschool facility.

According to the foundation manager Fundiswa Shabangu, the AGM is open to all, including interested stakeholders, since it is a public entity that renders community services to residents of Alexandra and beyond.

On the AGM programme for the day will be the election of new trustees and the adoption of an amended constitution of the foundation, over and above the normal rigmarole of adoption of reports and audited financial statements and the appointment of new auditors.
