Rally behind the Boks, urges Springboks legend Victor Matfield

I want to urge all South Africans to show their commitment by joining Betway in backing the Boks, says Victor Matfield.

Online betting and gaming brand Betway and sponsor of the Springboks has called on South Africans to rally behind the world champions and Back the Boks as they prepare to defend their World Champion title at next month’s global showpiece.

Launching the Betway Back the Boks campaign, a nationwide rallying cry for South Africans to fully get behind the Springboks and rally them over the line to defend their title on the world stage, Betway urged ‘South Africans to place an outright bet on the Springboks to win in France and be crowned champions once again or get a full refund should the result not go the way of the Springboks’.

The bold, yet exciting campaign signifies the support and commitment that Betway has for the Springboks, who this time are also extending the invitation to the thousands of fans who also want to demonstrate their belief in the reigning world champions.

The month-long campaign also sees former Springboks greats and current partners of the brand, Victor Matfield as well as Jean de Villiers going on a nationwide tour to engage with Springboks supporters at various activations across the country.

Sharing what is to come in the next few weeks, Betway head of marketing Mark Rowles said the campaign not only demonstrated the brand’s commitment to the Springboks but was a unique initiative that allowed for the nation to rally behind the team.

“As sponsors of the Springboks, we are delighted to be launching such an exciting campaign that allows both ourselves as a brand and South Africans to rally behind the world champions. Not only do we believe that the team will do well, but we strongly believe that they can indeed successively defend the title, and we want to extend this belief to punters and fans across the country to Back-the-Boks to another win,” Rowles said.

Matfield echoed Rowles’ sentiments, adding that he was encouraged to see the amount of belief that Betway has in the team.

“This is another big year for the Springboks and they need all the support that they can get. South Africans have always shown up for the team and we need to do so once again in their attempt to defend their title. I want to urge all South Africans to show their commitment by joining Betway in backing the Boks,” Matfield said.
