Yes Drone Academy graduates give back to former institution

Thato Mokwebo of Ntsika Ye Sizwesethu says the main purpose of the donation is to inspire the township youth during this Youth Month to change the bad vibe around the youth.

Founders of the Ntsika Ye Sizwesethu NPO Thato Mokwebo and Gcina Twala, who happen to be ex-graduates of the Yes Drone Academy at Alex Mall, recently returned to their former institution but this time laden with gifts of drone equipment for the current class of students.

The husband-and-wife pair of Mokwebo and Twala, the latter being the last-born daughter of Alexandra’s foremost philanthropist Linda Twala, pulled off the donation with the help of her dad, along with Drone World and Parcel Ninja.

Speaking to Alex News, Mokwebo said the drone equipment was meant to inspire the youth of Alex to embrace the usage and building of drones as part of their career development as newly graduated drone pilots.

“The main purpose of the donation is to inspire the township youth to change the narrative that this generation is a lost one.

“We also want to encourage the celebration of innovation and initiative on the part of the youth. We [at Ntsika Ye Sizwesethu] believe that the youth’s focus, influence and morals will determine the good that we do for our communities as the youth.

“We also strongly believe that showcasing what other young people are doing may serve to inspire others to follow suit and thereby stay on the straight and narrow, away from crime, drugs and mischief and all of which are catalysts in the destruction of the current generation of the youth,” Mokwebo said.
