The Ramakrishna Clinic of South Africa, which is headquartered in Phoenix, Durban, delivered a truckload of goods for the Alex Hospice and Rehab Centre in Alexandra.
The goods, delivered to the centre on May 13, ranged from grocery supplies to blankets and medicines and other necessities for the palliative care patients of the hospice, including other items marked for the staff that selflessly work at the centre, taking care of the various patients.
Speaking after the delivery of the donation, centre founder Grace Marutlulle said she could not find words enough to express her gratitude for the donation, which she said will go a long way in alleviating the shortages currently being experienced by the hospice.
“We cannot thank them enough but we are certainly over the moon with this donation. We have been struggling to make ends meet for some time in various spheres of our operation and this donation, timely as it came, is like a Godsend to us,” she told Alex News.
The Ramakrishna Clinic also delivered an assortment of cakes to celebrate Mother’s Day with the patients of the hospice and staff who provide care and love for the chronic and terminally ill patients in Alexandra and many other areas of the Gauteng province.
