If you never got the opportunity to play as a child when you were growing up, then this is your chance to compensate yourself for that lost chance to play now by joining a Sports Outing Day for Adults on April 1.
“This is no fool’s day joke. Come one and come all on the day for fun, play, sports, and relaxation,” said the founder and organiser of the event, Nomveliso Mthini of Izikolam Projects and Production.
Mthini, who is an Alex arts creative, said the idea is for people aged 35 and above, who feel they have missed out on playing as children, to have their own fun away from the children. The event takes place at the Alex Safe Hub behind Alex High School.
“They will have the opportunity to play some of the indigenous games on offer and also network with their peers at the same time in a relaxed atmosphere that is not demanding in the traditional networking sessions where they have to produce certain demanding outcomes.”
This is much of a community social outing. This could also play the role of therapy for the participants.
” I, therefore, urge all and sundry, especially those who never had time to play, or did not play enough as children, to join us on the day for fun, games and other activities,” Mthini told Alex News in an interview.
The sessions will also include soccer, aerobics, yoga, and experts, such as a dietician and social worker
