Michael Mount’s pizza day makes big changes

Marketing director of Michael Mount, Christina Seuffert, said that their pizza day tradition was paused in the wake of the pandemic but recommenced this year to show their support to their sister schools in South Africa.

In their way of supporting their sister schools, parents of the Michael Mount Waldorf School took charge of the school’s tradition known as Pizza Day to help raise funds.

The fundraiser which occurred on February 24 at the school located in Bryanston had a group of parents assisting the school by making and selling pizza to the community and members of the school.

According to the marketing director of Michael Mount, Christina Seuffert, the proceeds will be used to support Inkanyezi Waldorf School in Alexandra, and Lesedi Waldorf School in Limpopo.

“Pizza day plays a special role in our school and is a core feature of our community building, providing parents with the opportunity to give back to a greater Waldorf community within South Africa. This was the first pizza day since the onset of the pandemic, and it was exciting to see the pizza ovens in use once again,” said Seuffert.

She added that the day marked the start of their Founder’s Day Festivities.

“A big thank you must be said to our incredible team of parents who spent much time preparing for the day, and ran a spirited, organised and delicious day for our community. We look forward to many pizza Fridays to come,” concluded Seuffert.
