Vura Vex 38 unleashes his debut album

The streets of Gomora have given birth to yet another musical talent – Mpumelelo Nkomokazi known as Vura Vex 38 in the music industry.

Born and raised in the heart of Alexandra, this 20-year-old artist has recently embarked on a musical journey reflecting South African culture’s pulse.

Influenced by the iconic sounds of the townships and the rhythmic beats he fell in love with during high school, Vura Vex discovered his passion for music during the transformative period of the 2020 lockdown.

Vura Vex is to release his latest album, Vura Verity: Truth in Every Note on September 13.

“My passion for amapiano music stems from the sounds of South African townships, blended with modern influences and a hint of high school days where we used to create amapiano sounds by beating dustbins and competing who makes the best sound.

“I then decided to do vocals in 2020, and three months later, I started producing my beats and it was the best thing I ever did for myself.

“I have released multiple albums including the two notable ones, Washitwa and Strumentista which made waves on my YouTube and kept my fans captivated by my good music taste.”

Vura Vex said he believes that music is the language of the soul. “Through Vura Verity, I aim to share the stories embedded in our culture and raise a voice for those seeking hope and truth within themselves.
