Cheer brought to children with special needs

Learners at Sithandiwe Special Needs School in Alexandra were served tea and biscuits as part of the Thembalami Care Centre’s Mandela Day activities.

The Thembalami Care Centre visited the children at Sithandiwe Special Needs School in Alexandra on July 17 to mark the centre’s Mandela Day activities.

The centre’s occupational therapy staff and 10 residents spent 67 minutes colouring in and playing ball games with the physically challenged children.

When the Thembalami visitors arrived, the children with cerebral palsy were being fed their lunch. Bibs made by Thembalami’s laundry supervisor Jane Mogwale, with assistance from resident Joanne Weyerman Noble, were handed out, and the tea and biscuits that had been taken along were enjoyed.
