Laptops to sharpen young minds

Digify Africa has gifted Totalsports Alex Safe-Hub with 10 laptops, providing a vital tool for digital literacy and education.

The bright futures of the Alex youth were lit up as Digify Africa donated 10 laptops to the Totalsports Alex Safe-Hub on July 23.

Digify Africa’s head of budget Keneilwe Malotle said they wanted young people to have access to digital literacy training, enabling them to develop essential skills in a rapidly changing world.

“We wanted to add to the number of the laptops that the hub has because, nowadays, digital literacy is no longer a luxury, but a necessity, and the hub told us that they do not have enough laptops.

“As we are now living in a technological world, we believe that young people need to have access to technology, and these laptops will enable them to attend classes, do presentations, and type CVs,” Malotle said.

The hub’s head of facility Xolani Vena said, “we are thankful to Digify Africa for the donation of laptops to the facility. I think it’s important for us to receive this donation as it will benefit young people who access this space.

“Young people from Alexandra have challenges in accessing technological resources. These devices will help young people in their journey towards finding employability.

“It is highly appreciated that the donation came through because we are trying to create a world where young people have access to equal opportunities, can strive to realise their full potential, and dare to dream.”
