TransUnion’s Global Capability Centre marketing communications manager Grace Kadzere said the GBS opportunities for young South Africans to build successful careers regardless of their qualifications or location are now available.

“The sector is open to individuals with or without tertiary qualifications. If you’re willing to learn in-demand skills and gain relevant qualifications while earning a salary, then the GBS sector is a viable option.

“Secondly, the sector is creating nearly 20 000 new jobs every year, providing a vast opportunity for South Africans to start and build successful careers.”

Kadzere said the GBS allows individuals to work locally while having a global impact. “GBS offers continuous growth and upskilling opportunities. Instead of stagnating in a single role, you can take on different roles and continually upskill along the way.”

Kadzere added that even if you don’t land a full-time job after a learnership, the experience gained is invaluable. “You’ll gain international exposure, sought-after skills, and additional qualifications.”
