New initiative launched to empower entrepreneurs in townships

To empower entrepreneurs in townships and drive economic growth, BizTweak and the Department of Gauteng Economic Development have partnered to re-launch Opportunity Centres around Gauteng which aim to provide small businesses with the skills and resources they need to succeed and transform their communities.

BizTweak, a leading organisation that provides innovative solutions to drive business growth, has partnered with the Department of Gauteng Economic Development to re-launch opportunity centres in five townships around Gauteng.

The initiative aims to empower entrepreneurs in these areas with the skills and resources they need to succeed and contribute to the province’s economic growth.

The opportunity centres will be located in Diepsloot (Thlabologo), Diepkloof (Atlehang), Alexandra (Ikamvalethu), Roodepoort (Isiqalo), and Montclare (Simunye), and they will provide secure and safe sites for demonstration and field testing of business development technology.

The centres will also offer various services, including company registration, access to finance and markets, and training facilities at no cost.

BizTweak has a reputation for providing innovative solutions to drive business growth, having won the prestigious Smart City Innovation Challenge and being selected as one of the top 160 solutions in the McCloskey New Venture Creation Innovation Competition.

The organisation’s expertise in harnessing technology to drive meaningful impact and sustainable economic development makes it an ideal partner for this initiative.

The partnership with the Department of Gauteng Economic Development enables BizTweak to reach even more entrepreneurs in township areas, providing them with the support and resources they need to grow and succeed.

The founder and CEO of BizTweak, Arthur Tlou Mahlangu, said, “The partnership enables us to reach even more entrepreneurs in township areas, providing them with the support and resources they need to grow and succeed.”

The manager of Simunye Opportunity Centre in Montclare, one of the centres that will be launched, Sandile Gwala, emphasised the importance of supporting small businesses.

“We offer simple service development for small businesses and we offer them for free. Let us continue to support initiatives prioritising small businesses’ growth and success. They are the backbone of our economy and the lifeblood of our communities.

“The Simunye Opportunity Centre provides a comprehensive range of services, from company registration to access to finance and markets, all at no cost. This inclusive approach ensures that SMEs [small and medium-sized enterprises] have an equal opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or financial status,” Gwala said.

He added that the centre offers resources such as boardrooms, training rooms, and computer centres, which SMEs can utilise to enhance their operations and competitiveness.

Launching the opportunity centres is expected to significantly impact the entrepreneurial landscape in Gauteng, providing entrepreneurs with the skills and resources they need to succeed and contribute to the province’s economic growth.

With its cutting-edge approach to developing digital solutions, BizTweak is well-positioned to make a meaningful impact on the entrepreneurial community in Gauteng.
