For many years at the celebrations of her birthday, well-wishers have been asking the 93-year-old ‘spring chicken’ to share her secret to longevity but she preferred to cling to it tightly, only to let it loose during her 93rd birthday party at her old age home on January 31.

The ‘spring chicken’, as she’s often referred to for her active lifestyle and always sporting her high-heeled shoes, said the very nature of her job of caring for others and unwavering love for all and respect for the Almighty, were the only ingredients for her long life.

“I wake up every day and go to work and I never miss my Sunday prayer services at the Roman Catholic Church. I am a loyal servant of God and the people of Alexandra and I think I am being blessed for that,” said the 93-year-old who shares her birthday with a resident of the home, Susan Minnie, who is five years younger and they always celebrate together.
