Lehae La Alex concludes Mandela Day with little people

Lehae La Alex remembers Tata Nelson Mandela's value in life, which is to nurture the children.

Lehae La Alex organised the Mr and Miss Little Mandela Day beauty pageant for three Early Childhood Development Centres in Alexandra to commemorate the Mandela Month of July.

Lehae La Alex’s project coordinator Koketjo Hlagala said her organisation aimed to develop and uplift children aged between nine and 18 years in various skills such as dance, poetry and filming.
“The project was made to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela. We decided, as the organisation, to make the children happy as it has always been Tata Mandela’s value to uplift and take care of the children because they are tomorrow’s leaders,” Hlagala said.

Three centres took part in the pageant, Ububele Pre-School, Lithlabile Day Care Centre and Magezi Early Childhood Development Centre.
The five-year-olds were visibly happy and well prepared as they took to the stage in three categories – uniform, sport and entertainment.
The judges announced the winners as Boitumelo Moatshe of Ububele who was crowned the 2nd Princess, Enhle Zondo of Magezi was crowned 1st Princess and Thaluso Mulaudzi Lithlabile who was crowned Queen in the girls’ category.

In the boys’ category, Aiden Mushapaidze of Ububele was crowned 2nd Prince, Katlego Mtsheketsheke of Lithlabile 1st Prince, and Iminathi Mbana of Magezi was crowned King.
