Youth hone skills in digital economy

Alton Mazibuko of Alexandra is one of the many youths that have received digital skills training to gear the youth to take full advantage of the digital economy and also start their own small businesses.

Digify Africa has been delivering digital skills to the youth since 2011 with the support of Meta, programmes like Digify Pro, and Meta Boost and have since upskilled more than 10 000 young people and SMMEs across Mzansi and Africa as a whole.

One of those upskilled is Alton Mazibuko (30) of 6th Avenue and Joe Nhlanhla Street in Alex. He is an aspiring entrepreneur who is setting up his construction venture following the skills he obtained from one of the 10-week Bootcamp courses. He said the course taught him valuable lessons that will assist him in the formative years of the business.

The forum at Tshimologong in Braamfontein brought together youth and alumni who have benefited from the Digify Pro programme, youth-led/owned small businesses that have benefited from Meta Boost and have used the digital platforms to adapt during the pandemic and beyond.
