Good luck to Banyana Banyana tomorrow, says Royal AM’s Shauwn Mkhize

Royal AM FC has bought the franchise of Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies and renamed it Royal AM Ladies FC and at the same relocated the team to Pietermaritzburg to join the Royal AM family.

Royal AM FC has wished Banyana Banyana all the best as they aim to clinch the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) title for the first time.

Banyana play Morocco in the final of Wafcon 2022 on July 23 in Morocco after cruising to the finals unbeaten in both group stages of the tournament and the knockout stages too.

“Now is the time to put the spotlight on women’s football, the success of Banyana Banyana is a prime example of why we need to make even more strides in advancing its professionalism not only in SA but on the African continent,” said Royal AM FC founder Shauwn Mkhize.

“It’s great to see how women’s football has started to reach the radar of many South Africans. With the increase in investment, sponsorship and development, the long-term goal is to level the playing field with our male counterparts,” Mkhize added.

With the rise of women’s football in South Africa, Royal AM FC has announced the launch of their own women’s team, Royal AM Ladies FC. The South African Football Association (Safa) approved the sale of the franchise, change of name and home ground venue of the existing team, Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies FC, who will now form part of the Royal AM family.

KwaZulu-Natal will now boast two teams participating in the Hollywoodbets Super League, the other team being the Durban Ladies FC, along with new girls on the block, Royal AM Ladies FC.

Royal also announced a new partnership with World Sports Betting which welcomed this big step in making sure that women’s football thrived in SA. “As a company, we are excited to get behind the Royal AM Ladies team, there has never been a better time than now to get involved in women’s soccer.

“Supporters can look forward to great promotions and campaigns in the months to come, said Warren Tannous,” CEO of World Sports Betting. Mkhize confirmed that the brand was fully equipped and ready to manage and run the women’s team which has now relocated to Royal AM’s headquarters in Pietermaritzburg.

Royal AM Ladies FC, currently lies fifth on the log and has displayed quality football and has made great strides in showcasing their talent and skills on the field of play. She said the squad would play its remaining matches as Royal AM Ladies FC, led by the same, strong technical team and head coach, Thato Haraba.
