Marlboro donates blankets to fend off biting cold in Setswetla

The Muslim Community and members of Baitun Khair donated blankets to residents of Setswetla informal settlement in Alexandra.

Compassionate members of the Baitun Khair organisation and the Marlboro Gardens Muslim Community warmed the hearts of the elderly folk and the unemployed in the Setswetla informal settlement in Alexandra.

Blankets were also donated to unemployed persons at Marlboro Gardens who stand daily at the traffic lights on Lilium Drive.
The drive is conducted annually as Lee Ebrahim and members of the Muslim Community share the discomfort of the people who live under these poor conditions.

Ebrahim thanked all those who donated generously to this gesture. “We wish to help people who do not have enough resources to live better lives and we will always extend a helping hand to our neighbours and alleviate poverty.

“As a community we also assist in emergency cases like families who have been in misfortunes in the informal settlements and are unable to help themselves to overcome those misfortunes.”
