Hope for a 100% pass rate in Alex’s schools

African Child Foundation steps in to help learners pass English literature.

African Child Foundation visited Alexandra High School to stage their English literature prescribed book, My children, My Africa that they are doing for matric, so that the learners gain a better understanding of the book.

According to African Child Foundation chairperson Angela Makholwa Moabelo, the project was started by the foundation to improve matric results at under-resourced schools in townships and rural areas.

“Through our question and answer sessions, learners are able to answer questions to actors and teachers who are available during the staging of the show so they get to know what is happening, and while watching the show, they are advised to follow in their books,” said Moabelo.

Moabelo, whose foundation was sponsored by Sasko in the project, said their plan going forward is to take the project to 100 schools across all provinces per year with the help of sponsors and donors.
