Stepfather allegedly rapes stepdaughter
The suspect told the victim not to tell anyone.
Police detectives are investigating a rape case that is said to have taken place in 2015.
The victim, who is 18 years old now, alleged that her stepfather raped her in 2015.
Alexandra police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said, “The complainant said that when she came home from school on that day she found her [stepfather] on her bed. She then decided to take her changing clothes and go change her school uniform inside a toilet. While she was changing, her stepfather came in and undressed her by removing her underwear. The suspect is then alleged to have proceeded to take down his pants before raping her.”
Mbatha added that the victim said when the suspect was done, he told the victim to not tell anyone.
“According to the complainant, the suspect told her that even if she tells her mother, she will not believe her. She decided to keep quiet but she decided to tell her uncle, who helped her to report the matter.”
The victim’s uncle confirmed that the suspect did not live with them anymore.
