Alexandra police are investigating a murder and attempted murder following the fatal shooting of a shop owner and the wounding of his partner on April 9.
According to Alexandra Police Station Commander Brigadier Lindiwe Magudulela, the two victims of Ethiopian origin were shot inside their spaza shop on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Vincent Tshabalala Road at about 23:10. The injured shop owner was rushed to hospital.
In an unrelated incident, Magagula said a case of murder was opened at the station on April 10 after a 20-year-old man from Madala Hostel was stabbed to death. A 21-year-old male suspect had been arrested for the alleged murder.
