Pan Mall in Alex is back in business

ALEX – The only notable absentee is the Pick N Pay, whose space has been taken over by a Boxer Store which is still yet to open.

The Pan Africa Shopping Centre in Alexandra opened its doors for shoppers this morning after nearly a year of being dormant following the July looting and unrest that saw it being razed down by the rioting mob.

Although pretty much a construction site, the mall allowed shoppers to begin their shopping sprees despite the mall still being a work-in-progress site. Construction workers were still busy even inside some open shops and the Capitec bank branch.

Most of the shops that were there before the looting have returned and most of them to the same spot where they operated before. The only notable absentee is the Pick N Pay, whose space has been taken over by a Boxer Store which is still yet to open.

No one was available on site to talk to the media and construction staff on-site would not comment on anything. Alex News will follow up the story for its readers.
