Betting company robbed in Wynberg

WYNBERG – The suspects are unknown but there's video footage.

A popular betting company on the corner of Watt Avenue and 2nd Street, Wynberg was robbed in the early hours of the morning at about 05:28 on January 26.

According to the Alexandra Police Station’s spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the complainant alleged that at about 05:28, he opened for business as usual when four men entered with one of them carrying a firearm. They ordered him (the complainant), the manager and the staff members to lie down.

“The suspects proceeded to search the manager and the staff members. They took their cellphones, keys, a wristwatch, a wallet, a power bank, a cooler box, a lunch box and a silver knife. The victims’ hands were tied with cable ties. The total value of the robbed items is R3 967.”

The suspects are unknown but there’s video footage.
