A police officer of Alexandra Police Station received information from community members regarding an alleged murder that had occurred on January 6 in Ext 7, Alexandra.
The sergeant said he was driving a state vehicle when he was informed of the incident. He said the community members showed him the house where the alleged murder had been committed.
According to Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the spokesperson of Alexandra Police Station, his fellow sergeant said when he went to the house, he found the body of a man on the floor.
“The deceased had multiple stab wounds on the back of his body. When the paramedics arrived at the scene, they declared the man deceased. A mortuary van arrived later on and took the body of the deceased who has since been identified. The suspect was traced and has been arrested. He is currently detained,” said Mbatha.
