Alexandrians may soon be able to purchase their favourite Loxion Kulca street attire when the Pep store in the Freedom Supermarket building reopens for business following the July looting.
The tenant store was one of those razed to the ground when the entire building was set on fire after the looters had done their ‘business’ during the looting mayhem that gripped Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
This follows a collaboration between Pep stores and the famous Soweto brand, which was started by township fashion pioneer and brand founder, the late Wandile Nzimande who passed away early this year. The collaboration will also see the brand available at selected Pep stores nationwide.
Pep group’s chief executive for marketing Beyers van der Merwe said rebuilding work was still in progress at the site.
“We not sure when it might reopen but the store is one of those selected to carry the brand,” he said at the launch of the collaboration.
Brand creative director of Loxion Kulca, Ole Ledimo said they had taken the baton to push forward the fashion legacy left by Nzimande and the collaboration with Pep stores was one of those initiatives to ensure the brand continued to shine.
