Car hijacked on London Road in Alexandra

Police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said that the complainant said that he was driving his car on London Road towards the N3 onramp.

Police detectives are investigating a hijacking case that took place in Alexandra on November 17 at about 18:00.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the complainant claimed he was driving his car on London Road towards the N3 onramp.

“He stopped at a red robot and while waiting, three unknown African males, one armed with a firearm approached him and smashed his car window and opened the door from the outside. They told him to get out.”

The suspects all got in the car and sped off. “The vehicle is a dark grey Audi A3 with registration number VRH 207 GP valued at R85 000. It was insured and has a tracking device.”

No one was injured.
