Unrest recovery funding available for Alex businesses

ALEXANDRA – To apply before the closing date of November 30, 2021, business owners must request the expression of interest form.

Woodmead-based non-profit organisation Seriti Institute is looking to assist businesses in Alexandra that were affected by the civil unrest in July.

According to the communications officer for Seriti Institute Refilwe Pico, the organisation is a development facilitation agency which helps communities and social partners reach their goals by delivering innovative, sustainable and comprehensive solutions to enhance sound socioeconomic impacts.

Through support from the Industrial Development Corporation, Seriti seeks to identify and assist small businesses in Alexandra that were directly affected by the recent looting spree in Gauteng through what it calls unrest recovery support funding that will enable business owners to rebuild their enterprises.

Businesses that require the funding will have to meet the following criteria:
