Mothupi hopes to improve life in Alex

ALEXANDRA – Mothupi says she will endeavour to educate the community about the importance of good storm water drains.

Ward 76 ANC candidate Zandile Mothupi said she has a grand vision for Alexandra and the things that need to be revived to improve the quality of life in the township.

She told Alex News if voted in, she would ensure potholes become a thing of the past and that she would make frequent refusal removal a top of her priority list.

Mothupi said she would unblock a lot of the storm water drains that cause flooding in the township once it rains. “I will make it my duty to educate the community about the importance of good storm water drains.

“Water drains are not dumping places and that we should not litter anywhere as that litter we throw away gets trapped in the storm water drains and subsequently blocks them.”

She said she would work toward the revival of youth centres that would help take the children and the youth off the streets and away from drugs and crime.

“Idleness drives the youth to drugs, crime and teenage pregnancy while jobless men tend to become abusive to their partners. As teenagers, we used to dance, do theatre and poetry to build ourselves at the youth centres,” she said.
