Alex Mall open for permanent stay of Alex FM

ALEX – I am also renewing my old offer to the station for a permanent stay at the mall, says Motsumi.

Alex Mall co-founder Mpho Motsumi has confirmed that he offered Alex FM a broadcasting space to enable the community radio station return home to the township.

“I have not only offered Alex FM a temporary facility to broadcast from while they refurbish their old headquarters at the Yarona Building, but I have gone even further and renewed an old offer that I made to them years back when the mall first opened its doors for business but was turned down then by its board,” Motsumi said.

Speaking to Alex News, Motsumi said the offer he made years ago for a permanent broadcasting facility for the station at Alex Mall still stands. “I am still putting that offer back on the table and keep my fingers crossed in the hope that the current board may give it consideration.”

Motsumi said they will start broadcasting from the mall as of August 1. “The mall is wheelchair-friendly as opposed to the Yarona Building. People that drive are reluctant to go to the vicinity of the Pan Africa Square area because of the traffic gridlock.”
