Woman found with a gunshot wound in Alexandra
ALEX – According to Alex police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, they received information regarding a female that had passed on at the clinic.
Police detectives are investigating a case of murder after a woman died at Masakhane Clinic on August 6 at about 18:00.
She was admitted to the clinic after being shot in the head.
Alex police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha Mbatha said, “We went to investigate and one of the nurses showed us the deceased inside the cold room lying on a stretcher with a gunshot wound to the head. The deceased was identified by her husband”

The deceased’s husband told the police that his wife arrived home at about 19:10, changed her clothes and went to her friend who sells chicken feet on the street.

The husband said he followed his wife and then heard gunshots and spotted an unknown man passing by holding a firearm in his hand.
“He heard another gunshot and saw people running away for their lives. He turned around and saw his wife bleeding from the head, rushed to her and took her to Masakhane Clinic where she was certified dead on arrival,” said Mbatha.
The suspect has not been arrested yet.
