Police are asking the public to assist in nailing a business robbery suspect

WYNBERG – Alexandra Police Station's spokesperson Simphiwe Mbatha said the registrations of the cars used to flee the scene were unknown.

Detectives are investigating a case of a business robbery that took place on 12 June at about 9.15am at a liquor store in Wynberg.

Alexandra Police Station’s spokesperson Simphiwe Mbatha said four suspects were involved in the robbery. Mbatha said one of the suspects entered the bottle store first pretending to be a customer.

“The suspect called the other three into the shop. After accessing the situation, they then entered the liquor shop carrying empty bags, and pointed firearms at the complainant and her colleagues,” said Mbatha.

“They then robbed them of an undisclosed amount of liquor, cigarettes and cash [about R1 000].  The suspects left the shop and fled in two motor vehicles, both white.” 

Mbatha said the registrations of the cars used to flee the scene were unknown.

“One of the suspects was identified in the footage. The community is asked to assist the police to find the suspect.”
