Sibambisene Foundation gives blankets, bread and soup to the elderly in Alex

FAR EAST BANK – The foundation was able to provide blankets, bread and soup for 100 elderly people residing in the township.

The Sibambisene Foundation had a blanket drive among other things at Far East Bank on 17 April in Alexandra.

The foundation was able to provide blankets, bread, and soup for 100 elderly people residing in the township.

This drive was in conjunction with Angel Networks and the South African Jewish Board of Deputies.

Secretary-general of the foundation Linda Mbatha expressed his gratitude to everyone who made the drive possible.

“I would like to pass our heartfelt thanks to Angel Networks and the South African Jewish Board of Deputies.

Mbatha said these acts of kindness would continue even during the winter months that were upon South Africa.

“The cold winter months have started and we all know how important it is to keep warm. There are a lot of people that could really benefit from not just blankets but also food, so we will definitely be going out there and providing everything that we see is needed.”

Mbatha has asked the community and anyone who is able to join them in making a positive impact in, not just the community of Alexandra, but all the communities that need assistance in greater Johannesburg.

“We rise by lifting others, so it is important that we continue to provide and give the little we have to those who truly could benefit greatly,” said Mbatha.

If anyone would like to donate to the cause, old and new blankets are welcome.
