Alexandra Police Station appoints Colonel Vusimuzi Michael Ngubane as new VISPOL commander

ALEX – Ngubane was appointed to the rank of Colonel on 13 February 2021 as the VISPOL Commander of Alexandra SAPS.

Colonel Vusimuzi Michael Ngubane is the new Alexandra Police Station’s visible policing (VISPOL) commander.

Ngubane is ready to build a strong partnership with the community of Alexandra in a fight to eradicate crime in his journey to a safer Alexandra.

“He was born and bred in KwaZulu-Natal, Tugela Ferry. He joined the South African Police Service [SAPS] in 1992 and started working at Fairlands SAPS where he served the community for 15 years, and has 29 years of service in the South African Police Service,” said spokesperson for Alexandra Police Station Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha.

Mbatha said Ngubane had a National Diploma in Police Management and a BTech degree in Policing. “In 2000, he got promoted and he was placed at Linden VISPOL and [later] transferred to Sandton VISPOL and was also transferred to Alexandra Cluster where he served the community with pride for three years before he was transferred to Bramley Police Station.”

Ngubane was appointed to the rank of colonel on 13 February 2021 as the VISPOL Commander of Alexandra SAPS.

Ngubane said, “I will make sure that Alexandra residents feel safe and protected, the law will be enforced to combat crime. My core role will be to oversee operations at the station including the sector commanders, shift commanders, officers and the Customer Service Centre.
