Alexandra police are searching for Rasibatana Rankampule (42) who is wanted in connection with the alleged murder of his wife which took place on 23 June 2018. He had since been arrested and appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
“The man was granted bail by the court and the matter was set for trial on 18 January 2020 in the South Gauteng High Court,” said Alex police spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha.

“Rankampule is said to have absconded when he failed to appear in court for his trial date, leading to an arrest warrant being issued by the court.
“The detective investigating the matter has appealed to the community to assist the police with the information to locate his whereabouts and subsequent arrest.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police, and the community is advised not to approach him or try to apprehend him but rather to call the police.
