Alex’s 90-year-old gogo Grace Vilakazi will no longer have to wake up at the dead of the night and ask her grandchildren to accompany her to an outside toilet.
This is all thanks to Alex’s foremost philanthropist Linda Twala of Twala MaAfrika Funeral Services, and Phuthaditjaba charity services centre who are building a toilet for ugogo Vilakazi.
So far, Twala has managed to obtain bricks, a door and frame, a small window and a toilet pan – all donated through his funeral service. Twala said they were in need of cement, plaster sand, white, red, and black paint, a shower, and a small geyser and tiles to complete the work.
He said they have removed trees that were in the way of the toilet structure and also harbouring an army of rats that were terrorising the old granny and her family members.
Pikitup also came to the rescue of ugogo Vilakazi by cleaning up and removing a dump site that had been in operation for many years in front of the granny’s yard, Twala said.
“I will be glad if some people and their associates and corporates could come to our aid to help us achieve this dream for the granny,” he concluded.
