Brother arrested after allegedly damaging brother’s furniture

ALEX – The suspect was arrested and charged for malicious damage to property.

Detectives arrested a man who is alleged to have vandalised his brother’s property worth R2 000 in Alexandra on 21 November.

According to Alex police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the complainant alleged at about 11.30pm his brother arrived with his friends where he stays.

“The complainant said that his brother was shouting at him saying that he wants to show him who is the man since the complainant chased him from their father’s house. The suspect is alleged to have kicked the door,” said Mbatha.

Mbatha added that the suspect was alleged to have damaged the house’s windows which was how he eventually entered the house with his friends.

“The complainant managed to run outside while he was being assaulted. “They also damaged the furniture in the house which amounts to the value of R2 000.”

The suspect was arrested and charged for malicious damage to property. He has appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
