Man pulled out of a car in hijacking

ALEXANDRA – The suspects are still at large. A carjacking case has been opened for investigation.

Police detectives are investigating a hijacking case that took place on 16 November in Alexandra.

According to Alex police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the complainant alleged that at about 3am while he was driving along the N3 North onramp on London Road, he heard a suspicious sound which appeared to be coming from his car . This is when he stopped to investigate.

“He was approached by unknown males. One of them had a firearm, he fired a shot in the air and others pulled him out of the car. After that they got into the car and drove away,” said Mbatha.

The suspects were still at large. A hijacking case has been opened for investigation.
