Applications close today for the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme

JOBURG – Applicants must take note that their proposed projects must demonstrate compliance with Covid-19 regulations, and must be completed by 31 March 2021.

Creatives in the arts, culture or heritage sector are invited to apply for the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP). 

The closing date for Stream one of the stimulus programme is today, 20 November. This stream or funding allocation takes the form of a wage subsidy. It focuses on arts organisations, individuals and small businesses that wish to retain existing staff or contractors. Successful applicants will be notified from 1 December 2020 onwards.

This programme was set up to support the sector as it battles the effects of the national lockdown. This stimulus programme aims to kickstart the creative economy   and encourage the creation of important and innovative new work that adapts to the realities brought about by the pandemic.

The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) will be managing and disbursing a portion of the PESP allocation for the sector.

Applicants must take note that their proposed projects must demonstrate compliance with Covid-19 regulations, and must be completed by 31 March 2021. The call for applications  is on NAC website. Kindly read it carefully while planning your application.
